Project
Title: Who am I?
Content and Substance: The content in this Webquest project
engages students in a journey of self-discovery. During their quest, students are working with family members and
using the Internet to research family and cultural history. Students are thinking at the levels of
analysis, synthesis and evaluation.

Organization of Knowledge: The content of this Webquest is organized
to allow
students to
navigate through each level using information gathered from both family and
Internet research. Students are provided engaging activities that are important
for them.

Product Focus: Students will produce a quilt-covered book
that will contain their final research projects. The final product will be
presented to the rest of the class.

Clear and Compelling Product Standards: Students navigate through the tasks by
choosing an assignment on the task page. Each task is marked as a separate
navigation button leading to clear instructions for completion of the task.

Protection of Adverse Consequences for
Initial Failures: Students
are paired with one higher and one lower for extra support if needed. The tasks
and responsibilities are differentiated to insure a high degree of success.

Affirmation of Performance: Each student will have the opportunity to
present their work to the rest of the class and the option to present to other
classes, principal, parents, etc.

Affiliation: In this Webquest project, students will be
working in pairs or small groups to allow students to share knowledge of
technology and arts and crafts.

Novelty and Variety: In this Webquest, students will be engaged
in technologies and projects that will expose them to new and different ways of
processing information. The task and
work will also allow them to produce a unique and personal product.

Choice: Students will be allowed to choose the final products to include in their quilt-covered book.

Authenticity: Students are engaged in designing a personal history through family research and Internet research. They also look forward to presenting their history to an audience.
