The Task

Your job is to create a unique autobiographical book covered by your own personal quilt. This project will give you the opportunity to explore your culture, your family background and your life. Quilts are made to be functional, but they are also made to protect memories and tell family stories. Like writing quilts are a form of communication.

In order to accomplish this project you will need to complete each of the following activities:

· Create poems and a paragraph using your name

· Design a time-line of important events in your life

· Write a paragraph about the first experience you can remember

· Create a family tree

· Conduct a relative interview

· Write a Cinquain poem

· Write a summary about your favorite childhood book

· Find a cultural family recipe

· Write about your favorite food

· Design a quilt

· Assemble your book
