1. First you will choose the scientist you would like to be in order to become an expert in that area: Biologist, Botanist, Meteorologist, Ecologist, or Environmental Steward. There should be an equal number of scientists in each area.

2. Once you have chosen your field you will print out your Biologist Report Sheet, Botanist Report Sheet, Meteorologist Report Sheet, Ecologist Report Sheet, or Environmental Steward Sheet and complete your sheet through internet research.

3. All scientists in your field will meet to develop game cards for your area of expertise.
4. You will form five Survivor Tribes. Each tribe will have an expert in each field, who teaches the others about his/her area of expertise.
5. The tribe will work together to create the Survivor Florida Game. (See page for directions.)
6. Tribes will compete to save South Florida. May the best prepared team win!

Biologist: Use these sites to fill out your Biologist Report Sheet. Ask your self these questions: What animals live in South Florida? How do these animals interact? Where are they located? How could an introduction of a new species affect these animals? Which animals are especially threatened or endangered?

Botanist: Use these sites to fill out your Botanist Report Sheet. Ask yourself these questions: What are the native plants of South Florida? Where do these plants live? How would the introduction of exotic species affect the balance of these plants in their habitats?

Meteorologist: Use these sites to fill out your Meteorologist Report Sheet. What major storms have reached Florida? Ask yourself these questions: How have hurricanes affected the coastal areas of Florida? What measures should be taken in order to make life safer for the people in Florida? How can individuals be better prepared?

Ecologist: Use these sites to fill out your Ecologist Report Sheet. Ask yourself these questions: What are the different habitats of South Florida? How do they differ? What animals are found in each habitat? How could the introduction of new plant and animal species affect the balance and ecology of each area?

Environmental Steward: Use these sites to fill out your Environmental Steward Sheet. Ask yourself these questions? What are the major issues affecting South Florida’s environment? How has the balance of nature and habitats been affected by the introduction of various pollutants, exotic species, fertilizers, industrial waste, and habitat destruction? What is being done, and what can you do to help protect the environment for the future of Florida’s plants and animals?
