Weapons and Other Destructive Devices

The proposed revisions include prohibiting everyone, with a few exceptions, from having weapons or destructive devices on school property. The revisions also include the Superintendent’s authority to exclude violators of this policy from District property and events and staff reporting responsibilities in these matters and penalties if they themselves are found to be in possession of weapons.  Redundant language has also been eliminated.

Professional Development

This policy was revised to clarify the Master Inservice Plan as the document which provides the framework for reporting all professional development to the State.  The Three Year Academic Plan details the specific trainings to be provided to administrators and instructional staff.  Non-instructional staff shall receive training by appropriate departmental personnel.

The proposed revisions include providing a copy of our State Regulations for Education Facilities (SREF) inspection reports to the fire control districts providing fire protection to our schools in their District within 10 business days of the inspection.  In addition, we will annually certify to the State Fire Marshal that the inspections were conducted.
