Dear Community Members,
On behalf of our Governance Team (School Board Members and the Superintendent), School Board Member Julie Sprague and I spent the first week of school visiting many of our 48 schools in keeping with our “Way of Work – Collier” Governance Model. We were very impressed by the learning we observed in our classrooms and student engagement.
Enthusiasm from our teachers is abounding and we have witnessed a great deal of parent and community involvement! We urge you to make a commitment to be involved in our students’ education. Soon we will roll out our Be There campaign which will provide adults with additional tools to enhance children’s education beyond the classroom walls.
Parents of students in grades PreK-2 will be receiving new Standards-Based Progress Reports this year, and parents of freshmen need to be aware of new 9th grade graduation requirements.
Throughout the year, communicating with you will be one of my top priorities. Since many people prefer to communicate electronically, I ask that you provide us with your e-mail address.
